Analysis of The Dark Knight Rises teaser trailer

The start of this teaser tariler is different from other teaser trailers. After the green screen which means the teaser is a valid teaser trailer for this film, the two production companies are shown for the film which aren't normally included in the teaser trailer for a film. The audience is then introduced by a tracking shot of an falling city. The shot is very dark and a slow deep soundtrack emphasises the fact that the city has fallen into darkness. This could indicate to the audience that there maybe a not to promising endidng to the film as the opening has created a dark and glummy atmosphere.
As you can see from the still, the mood set from the beggining of this trailer seems like something bad has happened to the Batman. The next set of frames are frames from the previous 2 Batman films by Christopher Nolan to refresh the memory of the viewers. These don't influence the veiwers in any way but by refreshing there memery. We then are introduced to a scene where Gordan is in intensive care. In this convosation we learn that the Batman had been missing and that an evil had spread. The soundtrack was very low and sadding in tone which is the effect which is created on the audience at this time. After this, a rather perculiar shot is used. The shot is the Batman logo been made by tall buildings. To those who follow Christopher Nolan's work will be able to see that this is a link between Christopher Nolan's other film recently released which was Inception. This to the audience, this seems like a good idea of representing the Batmans rise but this idea has come from another film by the same director.

The teaser ends with a fight between Batman and Bain. The background music used again has a low pitch and is creating suspense. The teaser ends with Batman on the back foot with more suspense and tension created by everything going on in the teaser.
