What kind of films might have teaser trailers?

The films I think will have a teaser trailer are mainly films that have a big budget. Along with a big budget, the film must be relavent to some form of story like comic books. Most teaser trailers are made for books or comics as they already have a major fan base.
The reasons they are made are:

• If the film is a sequeal
• If the film is an adaptation to another film
• If the film is linked to other films
