The teaser trailer starts of in the same manner as every other teaser trailer. It starts with a green screen which all official trailers have to ensure viewers what they are viewing is appropriate. The teaser opens with the two production logo's,
one of the logo's is lionsgate. Lionsgate doesn't have a conventional colour scheme as it usually emulates the mood or tone of the film. The use of red and dark colours could indicate to the audience that the film could contain violence and danger. The sequence then continues to a conversation between two well know actors, Bruce Willis and Sylvester Stallone. During this conversation, there is no music playing in the background. This increases the tension and causes the audience to listen deeply to what is being said in the conversation.
The conversation told a bit of a plot which seems to happen at the beginning. The plot leads to Bruce Willis ending the conversation with 'You owe me'. This could be some sort of conversation which introduces the action packed film that fans are waiting for. After this conversation, the Expandables logo appears with weapons making circular motions around it. The weapons indicate the Action genre of the film and the audience are aware of all the action they are waiting to see. The next part of the teaser creates excitement as the teaser shows a shot of all there favourite characters with there names separating each shot of Action. This builds excitement and suspense for the audience as the audience don't get to see all the action in the sequences shown which creates suspense.

This teaser trailer is very character orientated which helps create excitement for the audience.
As our film is an Action sequence, we can take the idea of using a character orientated teaser pattern to help create suspense and excitement to help lour our target audience to come and watch our production and make our teaser more interesting. We could also use the idea of a conversation which helps slowly gather the audiences attention at the beginning of the teaser trailer. This will help create tension for our audience.
